The Power Of YouTube Video Metadata

When it comes to getting more views and subscribers on YouTube, many people overlook the importance of metadata. Metadata refers to the information that tells YouTube what your videos are about, including the title, description, and tags.

However, many content creators make the mistake of using drastically different titles, descriptions, and tags for each of their videos, missing out on the full potential of the YouTube algorithm.

The secret to leveraging metadata is to have a set group of tags and keywords that you consistently use for every video on your channel. This creates a suggested video feedback loop, where viewers

who watch one of your videos are more likely to see another one of your videos in the suggested video tab.

This can lead to multiple views, increased watch time, and ultimately, more session time on your channel. YouTube rewards channels that can keep viewers engaged on their platform for longer periods.

To put this into practice, you can start by targeting a small amount of search traffic with specific keywords and then leverage that into a larger amount of suggested video traffic. This strategy has proven to be effective for many successful channels.

It’s important to note that while each video should have its unique title, description, and tags, they should still be consistent with your channel’s overall niche or sub-category.

By sticking to a single niche and implementing similar metadata strategies, you can effectively optimize your videos for maximum visibility and engagement.

In conclusion, metadata plays a crucial role in attracting views and subscribers on YouTube. By consistently using a set group of tags and keywords, targeting both search and suggested video traffic, and sticking to a single niche, you can effectively increase your channel’s visibility and engagement. Don’t underestimate the power of metadata in driving success on YouTube!

Don’t Reinvent The Wheel

I believe that many people have the misconception that growing on YouTube is incredibly difficult and that you need to come up with a unique niche or approach.

However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. While it’s true that discovering a new trend can lead to success, more often than not, you’ll end up among the countless channels that no one cares about.

The good news is that there are already numerous successful channels out there that you can take inspiration from. Rather than trying to guess what will work,

I always advise people to model what has already proven to be successful. Many people worry about the high level of competition on YouTube, but they fail to consider that the number of viewers has also increased significantly.

Additionally, not all channels have a solid strategy in place to consistently achieve results.

As long as you can produce content that is equal to or better than what’s already working, competition becomes less of a concern.

Should You Create Wild Ideas Videos?

When it comes to modeling, I have found that it is important to focus on what is already working. However, that doesn’t mean that every single video I create has to be a replica of a previous successful video.

I believe in leaving room for experimentation and trying out new ideas. About 10% of my content strategy is open to unimaginable ideas or spur-of-the-moment thoughts that I want to test out.

But the majority of the content I produce is based on what has already proven to be successful. I constantly strive to improve upon that content by taking the best parts from different videos and incorporating them into my own.

By doing so, I have seen significant improvements in terms of entertainment and educational value, resulting in better-performing videos.

Finding unlimited video ideas

Finding unlimited video ideas that actually get lots of views is quite easy if you know how to do it. I split up my video ideas, with half of them coming from already popular videos and the remaining half coming from keyword research.

To find already popular videos in my niche, I search on YouTube and filter the videos uploaded within the last six months by the highest number of views. I look for videos with at least 50,000 to 100,000 views on them, as this shows me ideas that are currently working.

Additionally, I subscribe to big channels within my niche and use a tool called VidIQ to install a training tab on every channel page. By clicking on that tab, VidIQ shows me all the videos that are getting the highest views per hour on that channel right now.

I specifically look for videos with a high amount of views per hour that were uploaded over one to three months ago, as this indicates that these videos are still receiving a significant number of views even after some time has passed.
